Danantara and Qatar Investment Authority will manage USD 4 billion joint fund

Each country will contribute USD 2 billion. These funds are used for development in Indonesia which will focus on various sectors.‘We agreed to immediately increase cooperation. The Emir of Qatar will invest through Danantara Indonesia, with a commitment of USD 2 billion for this joint fund,’ Mr Prabowo said after meeting Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani at Amiri Diwan Palace, Doha, as quoted from a written statement, Tuesday (15/4).

The sectors that will be focused on in this strategic partnership are downstream, health, renewable energy, technology, and other sectors that have potential and relevance. Danantara CEO Rosan Roeslani is committed to running this joint investment transparently.

‘Danantara Indonesia is ready to carry out the mandate by implementing prudent, transparent and result-oriented investment governance. Our focus is to ensure that every funded project provides a strategic and sustainable impact to the national economy,’ Rosan said.

With the strategic partnership between Danantara and QIA, Rosan sees this as a form of global confidence in Indonesia in its capacity to manage large investments. Rosan hopes that this strategic partnership can contribute to the welfare of the Indonesian people and economic development.
